Try Dreads On Yourself

You upload a clear, front-facing photo of yourself, choose a dread set from our catalogue, and our AI model renders a photorealistic preview of you wearing that exact set — same colour, length, format and texture as the real product. The result is ready in roughly half a minute and can be downloaded, shared, or used straight as a reference before you order.

Behind the scenes this isn't a generic face-swap toy. We built a custom pipeline that feeds the model several signals at once so the result actually matches a real install:

• Coverage area — full head, crown only, back only, or full with a free fringe — controls exactly where the new hair appears.
• Texture — synthetic single-ended, double-ended, curly, smooth, or textured — is read straight from the product's reference photo.
• Colour fidelity — multi-tone blends, roots, ombres and highlights are preserved with the same gradient as the listing.
• Length — either copied from the reference set or overridden in centimetres / inches if you want to see a custom length.
• Tip finish — open wispy tips vs sealed blunt tips, which on natural-dread sets changes the entire silhouette.
• Photo finish — keep your original snapshot's lighting and background, or render a clean studio portrait instead.

To get there we ran 150+ test generations across every category — natural, curly, smooth and textured — tuning the prompt, the reference inputs and the length instructions until the output reliably matched the actual product on real customer photos. We retrain and re-test the prompt every week as the underlying model improves, so the try-on you see today is materially sharper than the one we shipped a month ago.

• Even lighting — natural daylight is ideal; no harsh shadows on the face.
• No hats, hoods, or sunglasses — the AI needs to see your hairline.
• One person only — group shots will be rejected.
• Plain background helps but isn't required.

The AI is trained on millions of hair-replacement examples and uses the actual product photo as a reference, so colour, length and dread pattern are reproduced with high fidelity. The face, skin tone, expression and background of your own photo are preserved untouched. Think of the result as a styled mock-up — close to what you'll look like, minus the time and money of a real installation.

Yes. Your photo is sent to our AI provider over an encrypted connection, used only to generate the try-on, and deleted within one hour — no copies kept on our servers. The generated result is stored for 24 hours so you can revisit or share it, then permanently removed. We never train models on your images. Full details are on our Privacy Policy page.
